How does your equipment get to us?

Self-delivery

The workplace is located in Schorisse in the Flemish countryside. There is an option to enjoy nice walks or long bike rides while your paraglider is being checked. (Please note that checking one paraglider can take half a day and ideally -if the case- , a parachute should be aired for 12 hours, which is done overnight.

The picture shows a map where Schorisse is located.

Parcel service

When it’s only your paraglider that needs to be send over, we prefer to work with BPost: they have an extended network of postoffices and postman in Belgium. The service is good and flexible for a good price. The glider fits in many free boxes you find in the supermarket. The label of BPost can be printed optionally in the postoffice.

work in progress:

Although we are in general satisfied with BPost, we have encountered a few hiccups in the 2025-26 season. We’ve almost lost a paraglider/harness/rescue when the parcel was in the hands of BPost. Statistics show that 1 in 10000 parcels got lost or is stolen.
On top of the loss of your flying equipment we also realised that it can be a financial headache (buying new equipment). At paragarage we are insured for a lot of things, but when your equipment is in the hands of BPost, no insurance is willing to help cover the financial loss. So paragarage cannot take any responsibility when your equipment is sent via BPost (or any other delivery company for that matter). We have sought and found another solution: via a third party, BPost is insuring the loss for 500, 2500 or 5000 euro maximum for a rather small premium.
When and how much is BPost paying back when they lost a parcel:

– You have an invoice for your glider (or other equipment).
– You take a photo before you close the box with the glider.

  • The amount paid back by Bpost is the amount on the invoice minus 15% for every year that have passed since (except the first year). Example:  Invoice date: 2023    Glider amount: 3000 EUR  = 3000 EUR – 30% = 2100 EUR( 1st year is full amount insure, year 2 and 3 is 15% + 15% ). You only have to pay 21 EUR to send your glider (out and return) and be insured for 2100EUR.

Pick-up

Sometimes, we come over and pick-up you gear. As it’s time consuming and fuel prices went trough the roof, we try to avoid as much as possible that solution. An example: a few pilots live in Brussels and we are on our way back from picking up 10 gliders from a club… we will stop in Brussels and pick up the gliders.
